14Point7 Spartan3 Lite V2 with LSU 4.9 sensor
OverviewThe affordable wideband lambda controller — and the most reliable we know.
Included:
Controller (Spartan3 Lite V2)
Lambda sensor (14point7 LSU 4.9)
Wiring:
Our wiring harnesses are usually fitted with a 4-pin connector. The numbers below correspond to the pin positions in the connector. The wire colours listed are those of the Spartan2 connection cable. The remaining wires are normally not used. Refer to the manual for more information.
+12 V supply – red
Power ground – white
0–5 V signal – green
Signal ground (ECU) – black
Please note:
Problems with this lambda controller and its sensor are rare. However, lambda sensors and electronics remain sensitive to contamination, incorrect installation and adverse operating conditions. The faults we encounter generally have one of the following causes:
An excessively rich mixture, causing soot to build up on the sensor.
Silicone contamination, for example from silicone spray, silicone gasket sealant or silicone-containing coolant entering the combustion chamber. This can contaminate the sensing element.
The use of classic engine oils or racing fuels with a high zinc content. Check the packaging to ensure the product is suitable for engines equipped with emission control systems.
Thermal shock caused by incorrect wiring. Make sure the controller only receives power when the engine is being started. This allows the sensor to warm up gradually and prevents an already hot sensor from being rapidly cooled by condensation or fuel when the engine starts.
An incorrect mounting position, allowing condensation from the exhaust to collect in the sensor tip. Do not install the sensor upside down.
Alternator problems, resulting in low battery voltage and preventing the controller from operating correctly.
Excessive engine oil consumption, for example due to worn valve stem seals or piston rings, or an incorrectly connected crankcase ventilation system.
Overheating, caused by wiring or the controller being installed too close to, or in contact with, the exhaust.
Moisture in the connector or controller.
